Special Offer - Middle School Mathematics The Salem State Colllaborative has been given an offer by the developers of First Fives Algebra (visit www.thelearningteam.org to review) to field test their new products, First Fives for Grades 6, 7 and 8. First Fives is a product that teachers can use in the beginning of class (thus First Five) to review previously taught concepts covering the major mathematics strands. It is expected that students should get 70% of the questions correct as it is reviewing concepts and developing “Automaticity” in working with the concepts.
The develops are looking for five schools that would be willing to use the material over a one month period, answer some questions and comment on the problems as well as the pricing structure. The teachers would need access to a projection system within their classroom. They are willing to provide the overhead sheets for schools without projection systems if necessary.
The five participating schools will receive an 18 month free subscription to the software when it is published in January, 2012. If you are interested please contact me at jkearns@salemcollaborative.org. They would like to start the process within the next two weeks.
