Description: This workshop is designed for new and previous Salem State Collaborative Workshop Presenters interested in doing presentations for the Collaborative during the 2008-2009 school year. The Collaborative is excited about encouraging outstanding teachers to share their ideas and teaching pedagogy with other teachers within the collaborative. We hope to expand our traditional workshop offerings of mathematics, science and technology to include offerings in social studies, English, Foreign Language and Special Education.

Over the past two years, the Collaborative has presented workshops to over 1800 teachers. With this year being a major year in teacher recertification, the Collaborative wants to help teachers reach their PDP goals through an even stronger and more varied program of workshops. If you have thought about offering a workshop, this is the program for you.

The CPMSIE staff will review the history of the collaborative, workshop expectations, presenter requirements, and general workshop goals. The collaborative coordinators will review the types of programs that are being sought for the coming school year as well as the 2008-2009 Workshop Schedule. Coordinators will work with interested presenters in designing their workshops, scheduling the workshops into appropriate time periods and preparing the paperwork necessary to be a presenter for the Collaborative.

Finally, the CPMSIE staff will show presenters the equipment and materials that are available to them as presenters. Our staff will do all that is possible to help new presenters feel comfortable in preparing for their presentation. Collaborative presenters receive fair compensation for their teaching time as well as receiving double PDP’s for their presentations and free tuition for CPMSIE workshops as long as they continue offering workshops.
