Integrating Technology into the Middle School Science Curriculum

Location:        Lynnfield Middle School, 510 Main Street, Lynnfield, MA 01940

Dates:                         Mondays, November 10, 17, 24, December 1

Presenter:       Liz Kinsley, 5-8 Mathematics/Science Department Head, Lynnfield

Audience:       Grades 5-7 Teachers and Instructional Aides

PDP’s:            10 Hours

Time:              3:45-6:00 PM

Fee:                 $50 for Member Districts                  $195 for non-Member Districts

 

 

Description:  Each week we will use one of the four content strands in the Science and Technology Curriculum Framework and integrate an engaging technology activity to help students understand the concepts and improve their technology literacy.  This workshop is designed to get technology into the hands of the students using commonly available software and the Internet.  Activities include:  using real time data, virtual field trips, conducting research, communicating ideas, webquests and/or using Internet labs/applets.  Bring a laptop or flash drive to download handouts and save your work.
