Description:
Stats, stats, stats! They are everywhere! How do we
make sense of it all? This workshop will focus on statistics and how we can use
technology to investigate statistical data. The TI-84 plus will be used in the
analysis of stats. Week one we will use the calculator to visualize and numerically
analyze one-variable data. We will extend the analysis in week two with
discussion of two-variable data and a regression analysis. The residual plot
and standard deviation will be discussed, as well as the correlation
coefficient and the coefficient of determination in our quest for the
appropriate model for our data. During the last two weeks, our discussion will
extend to AP Statistics. Participants will have time to practice with data, to
link and send data, and to practice on the TI-84. We will share our questions,
successes, and pitfalls --“Where did my
list go?”-- as we use the TI-84 in the study of statistics!
