Session 1  3:15-4:15 PM

Workshop #1:             Using Cabri Jr. on your TI-84

Presenter: Audrey Coats

Description: Cabri Jr. is a great way to implement technology into your Geometry classroom.  The good news is that a lot of your students already have it at their fingertips… yes, graphing calculators are good for more than just playing games!

Workshop #2:  Advanced Features of the TI-84 for Secondary Math

Presenter:  John Mosta

Description:  This workshop will focus on the parametric mode on the TI – 84 graphing calculator.    It will include setting up parametric mode and adjusting the window, tracing the position of an object in parametric mode, animating an object with and without a trace path.  We will also discuss solving a variety of motion problems involving trains moving at different speeds, different starting positions and leaving at different times.  We will connect the concepts of speed and position to idea of slope through a traditional function graph on the TI -84.   Participants will go home with a set of 5 problems and solutions.

Workshop #3:             SMARTBOARD in the Math Classroom

Presenter:  Karen Ellis

Description:  Come see what’s new with Smartboards in the secondary math classroom.  We will use Notebook 10.0 and show several sample lessons.  Examples will include links to other mathematical software like Geometer’s Sketchpad, Autograph and TI-Smartview within Smartboard lessons.

Workshop #4: Autograph in the Mathematics Classroom

Presenter: Steve Smith

Description: This hands-on workshop will lead you through the basic operation of this powerful graphing utility for your mathematics classroom. Explorations, projects and classroom suggestions will be discussed.
