Description:  In this workshop participants will share resources, activities, field trip ideas as well as
content information that meets the various strands of the  American History and US Geography Standards. Participants should bring their favorite materials and textbooks that they use.

Session 1: What's in these Frameworks anyway- and how do we meet all these standards?

 

Session 2: Using different kinds of texts, dramatics, and the arts to teach History
 

Session 3: How to integrate different kinds of technology into your teaching of Social Studies


Session 4: Background information needed to successfully teach these standards- resourcing primary sources to help students- Adult texts that would help build successful background knowledge for the teacher. Sharing of best practices for Grades 3-5
